So you've bought the full-sized Santa vignette for your yard. Here's how to set up your Santa scene to really celebrate right!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Santas Figure
  • Accent Lighting
  • Plastic Sleighs
  • Reindeer Figures
  • Outdoor-rated Extension Cords
  1. Step 1

Decide where your Santa scene will be best appreciated by your family and passersby. At the corner of your lot? Near the front door?

  2. Step 2

Make sure that the extension cord you plan to use is made for outdoor use and that it will reach from your electrical outlet to the Santa scene.

  3. Step 3

Set up the core of the scene, with Santa as the main figure and any other figures flanking him. Make sure none of the additional figures obstruct the view of Santa.

  4. Step 4

Set up fun accent lighting to show off your creation. Yard lights with colored bulbs are great for this.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are using the type of figures that contain lights, be sure to use only bulbs rated for those sockets. The information should be on the socket itself.

on 11/22/2005 Local neighborhood kids may damage your Santa, nativity, or Christmas decoration scene. I run a holiday decorations business and this issue has caused me hundreds of dollars in expenses during years past. I would recommend that all Christmas scenes be turned off, and possibly covered if their value is substantial.
