Pretty paper with customized designs makes an exquisite gift for the letter writer on your gift list. And you can count on getting a stylish thank-you note!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Visit a stationery store or full-service copy center in your area.

  2. Step 2

Ask about how the store works. Many shops will allow you to choose the basic paper, then select a monogram pattern or special design for customized printing.

  3. Step 3

Browse pre-packaged boxes of stationery if you are searching for a particular theme or image. Boxed sets include letters and envelopes in a visually appealing pack.

  4. Step 4

Choose colors or aesthetic images that are in keeping with the recipient's personal style. Avoid choosing dark papers, which are difficult to write on legibly.

  5. Step 5

Package at least 20 pieces of stationery paper, with the equivalent number of envelopes. You can supply an entire year's worth by including 52 pieces - good for a letter a week.

  6. Step 6

Stick a stamp on each envelope to make letter writing as hassle-free as possible.

  7. Step 7

Wrap a fancy, colorful pen with a bright ribbon and place it on top of the wrapped box of stationery.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make your own stationery for a more personal gift. Purchase visually pleasing paper and decorate it with stickers, rubber stamps or your own drawings. Include stamped envelopes with a similar design.

on 8/7/2009 Great overview on what to look for when it comes to buying stationery as a gift. There's actually a clearance sale going on at a place I like to frequent (it ends on the 31st of Aug I think). Anyone who's considering the purchase should take a look if they have a moment:
