1. Determine his size. Check his pants for the exact waist measurement and go from there. Some boxers are measured by waist size in inches, while others come in small, medium and large. Ask the salesperson to help you choose a size based on his waist size.

2. Search men's sections of department stores, specialty apparel stores and home accessories outlets for a variety of styles.

3. Choose between the three basic fabrics: cotton, flannel and silk. Cotton basics are excellent for everyday wear, flannel is great for those chilly months, and silk makes an undeniable statement on sensuality.

4. Pick a pattern and color scheme that fits his personality. Is he a cartoon freak? Give him Mickey Mouse boxers. Is he a classic minimalist? Choose from a plethora of plaids or solid colors.
