Would you know how to block a punch or a kick to the middle? A double forearm block will ward off the attack while setting you up for a counterattack.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Martial Arts Supplies
  • Martial Arts Uniforms
  • Martial Arts Videos
  1. Step 1

Face forward with one leg ahead of the other, keeping your legs shoulder-width apart.

  2. Step 2

    Form both hands into fists.

  3. Step 3

Reach behind you with both arms, your forward arm across your body and your back arm behind. Both palms will face down.

  4. Step 4

Move both arms forward at the same time to block.

  5. Step 5

Sweep your front arm out from your body across the middle so that it stops over your front leg, your elbow cocked at a 90-degree angle, palm facing inward at eye level.

  6. Step 6

Pull your back arm across the front of the body, fist resting against the side of the forward arm. The wrist will twist so that the palm faces up.

Tips & Warnings
  • The back arm should augment the block. Your front arm and back arm should form a 90-degree angle in front of your body.
