Walk around the front of the car, reach under the hood, find the latch and squeeze it. As you squeeze the latch, open the hood.
Step4
Find the windshield wiper fluid reservoir, usually a plastic jug filled with blue windshield washer fluid. It has a hose leading toward the windshield. Take care not to confuse it with the coolant reservoir, which may look similar. The coolant reservoir will have a hose that connects to the radiator.
Step5
Flip open the top of the reservoir.
Step6
Add fluid if the fluid level is low - less than three-quarters full or below the fill line printed on the jug. Fill it to the top.
Step7
Close the reservoir lid and the hood of the car.
Tips & Warnings
If you're not sure you've found the windshield wiper fluid reservoir, don't add the fluid. Consult your car's manual.
Don't add plain water. Windshield wiper fluid has detergent in it to clean your windshield and also antifreeze to prevent it from freezing in the reservoir or on the windshield.
You can buy windshield wiper fluid premixed or in concentrated form. If you buy it concentrated, don't stress out about getting the exact ratio recommended on the bottle - just mix with water and make it blue.
