Could you block a punch or a kick to the middle of your body while warding off a downward strike at the same time? With a C-block, you'll perform a double block that will leave you ready for a counterattack.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Martial Arts Supplies
  • Martial Arts Uniforms
  • Martial Arts Videos
  1. Step 1

Face forward, and turn your body to the side - one leg ahead of the other.

  2. Step 2

    Form both hands into fists.

  3. Step 3

Reach back with your forward arm, holding your fist over your back fist. Both fists should be palm up and will be near your rear hip.

  4. Step 4

Move both hands at the same time to block: Sweep your forward arm across your body, twisting your wrist as you block so that your palm faces out, your arm at a 45-degree angle. Your palm will face outward at eye level in front of you.

  5. Step 5

Raise your back arm above your head, twisting your wrist so that your palm faces out.

  6. Step 6

Keep most of your weight on your back leg.

Tips & Warnings
  • The fleshy side of your back forearm will face the ceiling, protecting the top of your head from a downward strike.
  • Twist at the hips as you sweep for the block to add power.
  • Practicing martial arts is a physically demanding activity. Consult your physician for advice on whether or not you should participate in martial arts.
