Use accented characters, not typically found on a keyboard, for foreign words or accents in your web page.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Open the page in a text editing program, such as EditPad or Notepad. Place the cursor where the symbol will appear.
Step2
Type the appropriate symbol, without using opening or closing tags or tag brackets.
Step3
Save the page and open it in a web browser to view the results.

Uppercase Letter O

Step1
For the uppercase O with a grave (left-tilting) accent mark, type: Ò or Ò.
Step2
For the uppercase O with an acute (right-tilting) accent mark, type: Ó or Ó.
Step3
For the uppercase O with a circumflex (roof-shaped) accent mark, type: Ô or Ô
Step4
For the uppercase O with a tilde (small squiggly line) accent mark, type: Õ or Õ.
Step5
For the uppercase O with a umlaut (double-dot) accent mark, type: Ö or Ö
Step6
For the uppercase O with a left-facing slash, type: × or Ø

Lowercase Letter O

Step1
For the lowercase O with a grave (left-tilting) accent mark, type: ò or ò.
Step2
For the lowercase O with an acute (right-tilting) accent mark, type: ó or ó.
