Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Choose from a variety of controller options: wireless ($50 for two); numerous colors of dual shock controllers, which provide the crashes and hits ($25); and arcade-style joystick controllers ($35).

  2. Step 2

    Add a memory card to your system to save game progress and settings. They come in a range of sizes and some are even computer-adaptive, storing up to 4 mb of memory ($15 to $50).

  3. Step 3

    Add a multiplayer adapter to accommodate up to eight players at a time ($25).

  4. Step 4

    Choose from numerous racing wheels designed for the wide selection of racing games ($30 to $55).

  5. Step 5

    Be aware of miscellaneous accessories: a Game Doctor will fix damaged CDs; guns for first-person shooting games; an RF switch or adapter for those TVs without audio/video connections; extension cables for controllers; game and system organizers; system carrying cases and backpacks; and replacement adapters and wires ($10 to $60).

  6. Step 6

    Look for these accessories and others at local and online electronic and toy retailers.
