How to Set Up Play Yard Equipment

Setting up play yard equipment is easiest if you're a little methodical about it.

Things You'll Need:

• Play Yard Ground Materials
• Adjustable Wrenches
• Yard Play Sets

1. Read any directions that come with the equipment and make sure you have all the parts.

2. Set out the pieces of the set in the play area.

3. Arrange the pieces where they will be placed in the final setup.

4. Determine how the equipment is anchored to the ground.

5. Make sure there is enough space for each piece's footprint.

6. Make sure there is ample clearance space around each piece of equipment - for the children using it, as well as for those who approach or pass the equipment when it's in use.

7. Lay out any ground material in the play area.

8. Place the uprights on the ground material. Bolt them together and attach them with the crosspieces.

9. Hang any swings.

10. Bolt on the slide or climbing pole.

11. Secure the base if necessary.

12. Tighten all the bolts.

Tips & Warnings

• If you lay out the pieces first, the order of assembly will be more obvious.
• Make sure the parts are facing the right way when you start. Sometimes, you can't determine proper placement early in the assembly.
