on 11/22/2005 I use cheap tension rods in my windows at Christmastime and hang ornaments, tinsel or snowflakes from them. I either put them flush to the top of the window frames, or I put them a little lower and hot glue some Christmas ribbon on the front. I use a minimum amount of hot glue and it usually comes right off when the Christmas season is over. You can also buy yards of fabric to drape over the rod once you get it up and then put the ornaments on. The rods come right down and store easily in the back of my linen closet.

on 11/22/2005 I have several large ornaments, including Radko, Patricia Breen, Old Polish glass, Old German glass, etc. I use large ornament hangers and hang these ornaments from the curtain rods on my front picture window and the two small windows in the front room. I also hang large ornaments from curtain rods in my kitchen and dining room. I have white curtains for Christmas, so the ornaments are the main focal point.

on 11/22/2005 Instead of using nails, I remove my curtains and use the rod. This also allows me to pull my blinds for privacy if needed. I use curling ribbon of different colors and from very large to very small ornaments. I drape light sheer fabric or netting at the top around the curtain rod and then I use a clip on light to shine on the ornaments at night.

on 11/22/2005 I hang an old ornate picture frame from a ribbon, centering the frame in the window. String the thin wire across the frame from tiny nails on the back of the frame. You can make several rows of wire. Then hang the ornaments with hooks onto the wire. I also hang glass icicles and snowflakes on the wires to catch the sun.

on 11/22/2005 Instead of putting nails in your window frames, use clear thread or fishing line (available at craft stores) to hang ornaments, and tape the line to the window frame. Hang at different lengths. If the ornaments are light-weight, the thread will hold!
