How to Make a Gumdrop Tree
Gumdrop trees make quick centerpieces, especially if you need several in a short time.

Paint a flowerpot with red and green checks, or sponge paint designs on the sides. Place cotton batting around the pot dish and glue some around the top of the pot.

Or, place a can in the center of a large square of green tissue paper or gift wrap. Gather the paper up and tie off around the top of the can with ribbon. Fluff the paper.

Cut a few small branches from a thornbush or tree.

Stick gumdrops on the thorns. (Don't remove and eat the candies!)

Tie candy on the twigs with ribbon if you're using a branch without thorns.

Trim the branches to fit in the container if necessary.

Arrange the gumdrop branches in the container.

Tips & Warnings
Baskets make nice gumdrop tree containers.
Tie small ribbons on branches or add different candies, such as peppermints.
Do not pick and eat candies. You don't know if the branches have been sprayed with any type of chemical.
