1
Ask your own date. Why wait to be asked, when you can pick and choose your own potential prom partner?
-
2
Consider attending the prom with a group of single friends. Get all dolled up, have a great dinner and show up at the dance with bells on!
-
3
Plan an antiprom party for all of your friends who are not attending. Rent movies like "Carrie," dress in your most casual clothes and dance to your favorite music.
-
4
Take the opportunity to have a quiet evening alone. Take a long bubble bath, eat a nice meal and revel in the fact that you're not stuck in a tight dress and uncomfortable shoes.
-
5
Write down your thoughts in a diary or journal. Studies show that people deal best with upsets or disappointments by expressing those feelings in writing.

Tips & Warnings
Remember that not being asked out is not a negative reflection on who you are. Most supermodels are rarely asked out. Consider it a tribute that you fall into the same category!

The last dance I went to, my girlfriends and I made a promise that since we didn't have boyfriends at the time, we'd go together and hang out. We'd dance with guys and all, but it was gonna be a girls night out. We had a blast. We didn't have to worry about where our dates were or if they weren't having fun. It was the last dance of the year and we weren't gonna sit at home just because we didn't have dates. Go with a big group and if you see cute guys there then dance with them! -

Think of the 400 or so dollars you'll be saving, on average, and think of better things to splurge on instead of stuff you'll only get to use once. -

you don't NEED a date to have fun at the prom.. i'm totally considering going dateless.. look at it this way: you won't have to "baby-sit" him, especially if he's from another school [i.e. make sure he's ok, not bored, not lonely, not left out]!! u can chill and be free the whole night without having to worry if he's alright.. and if u absolutely MUST have one, ask a friend from school, especially a guy who chills with the same people that u do.. at least he'll be comfortable and know people!!
