Beauty pageants competitors are graded in many different areas, from beauty to poise. Platforms are areas of public concern that each contestant stands behind and shows her support for. Pageant organizers create platform sheets to gain more information about each competitor's selected platform and how she plans to represent it. These forms are filled out before the contest begins and helps the event organizers better understand each of the competitors. Does this Spark an idea?

      Open a Microsoft Word document and save it as the platform sheet for the beauty pageant. Name the sheet after the upcoming contest so you quickly find and reference the form if needed.

      Type section one and title it "Demographic Information." In this section the contestant will write her name, hometown, contestant number and birth date. Additional information pertinent to the specific contest can also be included in this section.

      Type section two and title it "Platform Information." In this section the contestant will write the specific title of her platform. In the next spacing the contestant will give an in depth explanation of the platform and how she will work for it during her time as contest champion.

      Type section three and title it "Why I Should Win The Competition." In this section the contestant will write a brief explanation of why she should be crowned the contest champion and what she will bring to the organization.

      Type section four and title it "Additional Information." In this section the contestant will list her educational, professional and leadership experience. The contestant can also provide interesting facts about her life within this section.

      Save the final document and review it for any errors. Have competition staff members also review the form for content and grammar. Print the forms to have available when the competition begins.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add word limits to each section to control how long the forms are. The word limits will force each individual to describe her platform and additional information in a particular fashion, making them easier to read for contest officials.
