How to Skip Dialogue in "Monkey Island"
The "Monkey Island" series has been around since the early 1990s. The game is known for its funny dialogue and silly scenarios. Skipping dialogue allows players who have heard it before to progress through the game faster. The most recent editions of Monkey Island, "The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition" and "Monkey Island 2: Special Edition" allow the player to skip dialogue in classic mode. This also works for the original versions.

Load the game and begin a conversation.

Press "F10" to switch to classic mode if you are playing a special edition version.

Press the "Period" key to skip dialogue. This should also work in the original versions. Cutscenes can be skipped in the Special Edition version without switching to classic mode by pressing "Backspace."
