How to Make Crowns With Little Children
A crown craft is a straightforward craft that works with a variety of themes. A crown craft can be a Sunday school project, school unit study on royalty, as an after-school activity for dress-up or playtime, or as a prop for a play. When working with a group of little children, make the craft as uncomplicated as possible. Young children should also stay away from the use of scissors, if possible. Cut out the crowns in advance to make the craft project proceed without incident.

1
Draw the outline of a crown onto a piece of paper. Make each crown about 18 inches long. Cut out a crown for each child.
-
2
Make a sample crown from paper before the event. This shows the children what their crowns should look like when finished. Tape the ends of the crown together. Glue several beads, fake jewels and other embellishments on the crown. Allow the crown to dry overnight.

3
Instruct the children on how to wrap the crowns around their heads. Tape the crown together so the crown can fit snugly around each child's head.
-
4
Show the children how to color their crowns or add embellishments to make each crown unique. Have the children write their names on the back of their crowns so they can find them easily when it is time to go home.
-
5
Allow the crowns to dry for one or two hours before allowing the children to take them home.
