How to Make Roller Skate Cards
In an age of lightning-fast technology that constantly evolves and develops, sometimes simpler pleasures more common in the past regain popularity. If you've recently developed a nostalgia for things like record players and roller skates, there's no reason why you can't indulge in them. For example; using roller skates as the theme image for a greeting card or the cardstock on an invitation allows you to embrace a bygone era, even if you don't have inherent artistic ability.

Place an 8 1/2-by-11-inch piece of cardstock horizontally in front of you, on top of a flat surface. Fold the left edge to the right edge, making a vertical crease right through the middle.
-
2
Center a stencil in the shape of a roller skate on the top page of your card. Trace the roller skate in pencil.
-
3
Cut out the roller skate following your pencil lines with a pair of scissors. Dip a 1/4-inch paintbrush in acrylic paint and paint the roller skate in the colors of your choice, such as white with red trim or green with orange trim; it's up to you.
