How to Get a Spearow on "Pokemon Platinum"
In the "Pokemon" video games, a Spearow is a small but aggressive bird Pokemon that cautiously guards its territory. In battle, a Spearow relies on speed and physical power to hit its foes with attacks such as Aerial Ace, Mirror Move and Drill Peck. As a Flying- and Normal-type Pokemon, a Spearow is resistant to Bug- and Grass-type attacks and immune to Ground- and Ghost-type moves. In "Pokemon Platinum," Spearows gather on Route 225.

Travel to the Fight Area on the Battle Zone Island. This area is only accessible after you defeat the Elite Four and Sinnoh League Champion.

Enter the PokeMart on the east side of the Fight Area.

Talk to the cashier to purchase Ultra Balls for your inventory.

Exit the PokeMart and travel through the gate in northwest section of Fight Area. You will arrive on Route 225.

Walk around the tall grass on Route 225 until you encounter a wild Spearow. Spearow's appearance rate is 5%. You can expect the Pokemon to be around level 47.

Weaken the wild Spearow with attacks. It's most vulnerable to Electric-, Ice- and Rock-type moves. The Pokemon will be easier to capture if you also use Hypnosis, or a similar move, to put it to sleep.

Throw Ultra Balls to capture the wild Spearow.

Tips & Warnings
You may also encounter a Fearow -- a Spearow's evolved form --- on Route 225. A Fearow's appearance rate is 30%. You can expect wild Fearow to range between levels 48 and 50.
