How to Fix a Bubble on Tint
Tint lessens the amount of bright light that comes through windows and makes it more difficult to see through to the inside. Applying tint can be frustrating, however, as the smallest mistake creates bubbles in the tint that look ghastly. The best way to remove the bubbles is to take the tint completely off and start over, but that option is time consuming and costly. Instead, try a simple solution to fix individual bubbles.
Things You'll Need
- Hair dryer or heat gun
- Spray bottle
- Sewing needle
- Driver's license or credit card
Instructions

1
Warm the area around the bubble with a hair dryer or heat gun set on low. The heat will make the tint more malleable.
-
2
Spray the tint lightly with water from a spray bottle set on mist. The water helps keep the tint from ripping during the procedure.

3
Puncture the air bubble at its base with a sewing needle. Push the needle through the tint and pull it back out without moving it around, to prevent tearing the tint.
-
4
Slowly slide a driver's license or credit card over the bubble, starting from the edge opposite the needle hole. Keep the bubble moist with the spray bottle until the bubble is completely flat.
