Things You'll Need
- Heavy duty gloves
- Metal file
- Metal ruler
- Metal shears
- Sheet metal brake
- Towel
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove any cork or backing on the metal ruler. The ruler must be stripped of all other materials before proceeding.
-
2
Put on the heavy duty gloves to protect your hands. Take the metal shears and cut the metal ruler at the 7-inch mark. Throw away or recycle the remaining 5-inch piece.
-
-
3
Take the 7-inch-long ruler piece and file both ends of it with the metal file. Both ends ought to be rounded and smooth, or else the cuff bracelet will be uncomfortable.
-
4
Place the filed ruler piece inside the sheet metal brake, which will curl the ruler into a cuff shape. The ruler should fit inside the sheet metal brake's clamp, with a portion of the ruler sticking out near the bending bar.
-
5
Pull the bending bar slowly until the ruler is slightly curved. Push more of the ruler out of the clamp, and then pull the bending bar slowly again. Continue working the ruler and the bending bar until the ruler is in a cuff shape.
-
6
Remove the ruler bracelet from the sheet metal brake, and then you have a great piece of jewelry to give someone or wear yourself!
