How to Make Professional Craigslist Postings

Craigslist is an online classifieds website that not only lets users post personal ads, but professional ads as well. Users can post professional ads advertising their services, advertising a job opening or advertising a professional gig. Depending on the type of professional ad being posted, there may be a small fee involved. Regardless of the fee, however, you can create a professional Craigslist posting in a few simple steps.

Instructions

Professional Service Advertisement

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to craigslist.org. Click the city or region where you want to advertise to navigate to that city or region's classifieds page.

2. Click the "My Account" link, type your Craigslist account email and password in the spaces provided and click the "Log In" button to log into your Craigslist account.

3. Click the "Services" option, followed by the "Post" option in the upper-right corner of the "Services" page.

4. Select the professional services category you want your advertisement to appear in.

5. Type a title for the post in the space labeled "Posting Title." The title of the post should contain the service being advertised. Type a specific location for the post in the space labeled "Specific Location."

6. Type a description for the posting in the space labeled "Posting Description." Since this is a professional post, double-check your grammar and spelling.

7. Click the "Continue" button. Review the posting and click the "Continue" button.

8. Type your phone number in the space provided, select the receiving method from the list of options and click the "send the code!" button to have the verification code sent to your phone. Type the verification code in the space provided and click the "submit verification code" button to verify your account. This step must only be completed if you have not verified your account in the past 90 days.

9. Type the words in the CAPTCHA image in the space provided and click the "Continue" button to post the professional service ad.

Job Opening Advertisement

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to craigslist.org. Click the city or region where you want to advertise to navigate to that city or region's classifieds page. Click the "My Account" link, type your Craigslist account email and password in the spaces provided and click the "Log In" button to log into your Craigslist account. Click the "Jobs" option, followed by the "Post" option in the upper-right corner of the "Jobs" page.

2. Place a checkmark next to the professional categories to which the job posting applies. For every category you select, a $25 fee will be applied. Click the "Continue" button.

3. Type a title for the post in the space labeled "Posting Title." The title of the post should contain the service being advertised. Type a specific location for the post in the space labeled "Specific Location." Type a description for the posting in the space labeled "Posting Description." Since this is a professional post, double-check your grammar and spelling. Type the compensation for the job in the space labeled "Compensation."

4. Click the "Continue" button, review the posting and click the "Continue" button again. Click the "Continue" button a third time, type your billing information in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button once more.

5. Verify your account if necessary, type the words in the CAPTCHA image in the space provided and click the "Continue" button to post the professional job ad.

Professional Gig

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to craigslist.org. Click on the city or region where you want to advertise to navigate to that city or region's classifieds page. Click the "My Account" link, type your Craigslist account email and password in the spaces provided and click the "Log In" button to log into your Craigslist account. Click the "Gigs" option, followed by the "Post" option in the upper-right corner of the "Gigs" page.

2. Select the "I want to hire someone" or the "I have a service to offer" option and click the "Continue" button. Select the category that applies to the gig and click the "Continue" button again.

3. Type a title for the post in the space labeled "Posting Title." The title of the post should contain the service being advertised. Type a specific location for the post in the space labeled "Specific Location." Type a description for the posting in the space labeled "Posting Description." Since this is a professional post, double-check your grammar and spelling. Select either the "Pay" or "No Pay" option and type the pay description in the space provided.

4. Click the "Continue" button, review the posting and click the "Continue" button again.

5. Verify your account if necessary, type the words in the CAPTCHA image in the space provided and click the "Continue" button to post the professional gig ad.
