1
Slice a cork using a sharp craft knife. For round magnets, slice the cork into four 1/2-inch pieces to create cork circles. Another option is to slice the cork down the center lengthwise, creating a flat surface to adhere the magnet to but still keeping the cork shape intact.

2
Glue the cork circles together with craft glue to make a design for a more interesting magnet. Form a heart, flower or circle by overlapping cork circles and gluing them together. To decorate a long cork magnet, tie ribbons around it or add self-adhesive crystals.

Stick a round, 1/2-inch self-adhesive magnet to each cork circle. For circles you've glued to make designs, add only one or two magnets at the top and bottom of each design. For the non-circular magnets, cut a piece of self-adhesive magnetic sheeting to fit the flat side of the cork. Press the adhesive magnets on to the cork to adhere them.
