Okay, you've used the tracked changes feature, but now you want to get rid of all those marks! Here's how to do that for a Microsoft Word 97 or Word 2000 (for PC) or Word 98 (for Macintosh) document.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately challenging

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Select the changed text.
Step2
Go to the Tools menu and select Track Changes.
Step3
Select Accept or Reject Changes.
Step4
In the dialog box that appears, use the Accept or Reject buttons to accept or reject the selected changes.
Step5
To accept or reject more changes, use the Find buttons to go to the previous or next change.

Tips & Warnings

  • To accept or reject all the changes in a document at once, click Accept All or Reject All in the Accept or Reject Changes dialog box.
  • You can also accept or reject changes with the Reviewing toolbar. To open the Reviewing toolbar, go to the View menu and select Toolbars, then select Reviewing.

on 11/15/2006 I'd suggest that you go Tools/Track Changes/Accept or Reject to bring up the window, then use the find button to find the next change, then accept or reject it. That's much simpler than to select the text and then bring up the window.

You can also accept or reject most changes by right-clicking on the word that's been changed, and choosing "accept" or "reject."
