Hang earrings on decorative glasses. Set a wine glass, teacup or cute glass on your dresser and hang your earrings on the edges of the cup. This idea works only with hanging earrings, not with studded earrings. This provides a cute way to display your earrings, though if you have a lot of earrings, you may need several cups. To hang the earrings on cups, lay the back wires around the lip of the cup. This idea works best with dangling earrings, because most of these types of earrings have wire fishhook-style backs.

Make an earring rack with a piece of ribbon. Tie the ribbon to a pin and drape on a curtain or attach it to your wall with a nail. Attach the earrings to the ribbon in pairs by pushing studded earrings through the ribbon. After pushing them through, attach the earring backs to the back of earrings located on the back of the ribbon. Add decorations to the ribbon to make it look fancier.

Make an earring rack with a picture frame and mesh. Insert a piece of mesh or screen into the empty frame. Set the frame on your dresser or hang on your wall and use it to hold all of your earrings. When you make this, remove the glass and backing. Replace the backing if you want to set the frame on a dresser or shelf; otherwise, you can leave the backing off. To attach earrings, simply push earrings with wire backs through the mesh, or push studded earrings through and attach the backs of the earrings on the back side of the earring rack.

Use a grease splatter kitchen gadget. Grease splatters are large gadgets designed to cover large pans while frying foods. They prevent the grease from the food from splattering out of the pan. These are ideal for making an earring rack. Bend back the handle, which can be used as a stand for the rack and place earrings on the mesh. If desired, decorate the splatter to make it look nicer and to match your bedroom. With this type of rack, push the earring wires through the splatter part and attach earring backs if necessary.
