How to Float Badges on Blogger
For some bloggers, the standard "Follow Me" badges that show up in a blog's sidebar are not fancy enough; they want something that gives a little extra. One of those "extras" can be a "floating badge," which looks almost like a tab and requires a little work within the back end of the blog. Like nearly every kind of social media sharing tool, you won't have to re-invent the wheel to do this; it's quite easy to get the code for a floating button for free.

1
Navigate to a site such as Go2Web20, Blogger Mint or Geek Yard, and look for a "Twitter "Follow" Badge for your site/blog" page or something similar. Enter the information requested -- usually your Twitter account name, the verbiage you want to use and the color you want your badge to be -- then click "Update Code" or a button of similar wording to generate the code.
-
2
Copy the code that appears on the next page.
-
-
3
Log into your Blogger account and click "Design" from the "Dashboard."
-
4
Click "Edit HTML" from the top of the page. If you're not confident in your ability to navigate and paste code, click "Download Full Template" near the top of the page to save a copy of your original template before you move on.
-
5
Scroll through the code that appears in the "Edit Template HTML" box, until you see the text that says "</body>" near the bottom.
-
6
Place your cursor just before the "</body>" text and paste the code you copied in step 2. Click "Save Template." You can repeat this process for any float badges that you find and want to include on your blog.
