How to Get More Stuff on Vuze
Vuze is a free bittorrent app formerly called Azureus. Getting more stuff on Vuze requires a mixture of the correct settings and knowing how to properly search for torrents. By tweaking a few settings within Vuze, as well as your firewall and downloading habits, the best Vuze has to offer is yours for the taking. Ensure you're not downloading any copy-protected material, which may come with legal ramifications.
Instructions
-
-
1
Open Vuze and click "Tools," then "Options." Change "User Proficiency" to "Advanced," enabling all Vuze's options.
-
2
Click "Connections" and ensure all check boxes under "Peer Sources" are filled in. Press "Apply" and "Close."
-
-
3
Click "Help," then "Speed Test," then "General speed test" and press "Next." Click "Continue" and wait while Vuze tests your upload and download speeds. Once complete, Vuze displays your optimal settings. Click "Apply" to keep them.
-
4
Use multiple torrent sites to find the ones that suit you best. When finding torrents, choose the ones with a high seed-to-peer ratio, or a sizable amount of seeders for the peers. Seeders are those actually uploading the torrent, while peers are downloading.
-
5
Continue uploading files after downloading them. Your upload speed corresponds directly with your download speed; the more you're uploading, the better your download speed. Don't change your upload speed to a higher number than Vuze determined as your ideal speed, or you'll start sacrificing potential download speed to upload torrents quicker.
-
6
Use the "Sorting" feature when available on torrent sites. Set it so the first search results shown have the highest number of seeds.

Tips & Warnings
Open your firewall and "Exceptions," "Program Control" or something named similarly, then add Vuze to it with full Internet access.
Read any comments, and pay attention to any ratings associated with a torrent. These are usually good ways to tell if a torrent is legit or may contain malware.
Don't use other P2P or Internet intensive programs while running Vuze. Any Internet bandwidth you're using for other programs is no longer potential bandwidth for Vuze.
