How do I Cancel My Xbox.com Profile?

Accounts created on the Xbox.com website are connected to an Xbox Live profile. An Xbox Live profile allows you to play and preview games and create a customizable avatar. When an Xbox.com profile is created, it is also connected to a Windows Live account. To cancel the Xbox profile, the Windows Live account must be deleted.

Instructions

1. Navigate an Internet browser to the Windows Live homepage at Live.com.

2. Enter your profile ID and password. Click the "Sign In" button.

3. Click your profile ID in the upper-right corner of the screen. Click the "Account" link from the drop-down menu.

4. Click "Close Your Account" under the Other Options heading.

5. Type your password in the field provided.

6. Click "Yes" under the password field to finalize the account closure process. The Windows Live ID and Xbox.com profile are deleted.
