Instructions

-
2
Cut a stick of butter into small blocks and place it on the wax paper

Unwrap a stick of butter.

5
Hold a grater over a large bowl and grate the chilled butter.

Warm Water
-
7
Boil a large saucepan of water and allow to stand for five minutes.
-
8
Place a wrapped stick of butter in a bowl, and put the bowl in the saucepan of warm water.
-
9
Place a plate over the saucepan to keep the heat in and check the temperature of the butter every five minutes. If you're working with a particularly large piece of butter, cut it into smaller pieces first.
