How to Use Terran in StarCraft 2
StarCraft 2 is the sequel to the wildly popular real-time strategy computer game StarCraft. In the game, players choose one of three sides, the Terran, Protoss or Zerg. Each side has unique units that come with advantages and disadvantages. If you want to play as the Terran, the game's only human race, you will have to adapt to the unique style of play required by this race. Terran units do best when working together and are heavy on defensive capabilities.

1
Keep your mining units active at all times and build a new SCV (the Terran mining unit) at the start of every game. Continue producing these units regularly throughout the game.
-
2
Upgrade your Command Center as soon as possible. By upgrading the Command Center, you gain access to key technology upgrades to build better, stronger units.
-
-
3
Build a significant amount of bunkers and anti-aircraft turrets. Compared to the game's other two races, the Protoss and Zerg, the Terran defense structures are relatively cheap and can be repaired if damaged. Use this Terran advantage to fortify your bases.
-
4
Group your Terran units to complement their abilities. The Protoss and Zerg races have relatively strong individual units, some of which attack hand-to-hand. These units, when isolated, can survive some punishment from enemy fire; Terran soldiers typically cannot. Terran units should move in complementary groups, heavy on the Marine unit and supplemented by at least one Medivac, the Terran healer unit which can restore the health of your soldiers.
-
5
Build Siege Tanks as soon as possible by upgrading your Command Center and technology research trees. Siege Tanks are a powerful land unit that can alternate between siege/defensive and attack modes. They are versatile and can stand up to a lot of punishment. Build a group of them as soon as possible to get the most bang for your buck. Siege Tanks can be used to defend bases one minute and destroy enemy installations the next.
-
6
Employ units with the EMP ability. Some units can release a charge that weakens or nullifies enemy shields. When fighting the Protoss, who have shield-based units, EMP-equipped units can turn the tide of the battle. Mix these into your main battle group.
