How to Tune a Delta Kite
Delta kites are a type of light wind stunt kites, that are both easy to construct or assemble and reliable when flying. This type of kite takes its name from the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, which finished delta kites resemble. Despite their reliability, there is no guarantee that kites straight out of production will fly perfectly. Instead, most delta kites need "tuning," which refers to the adjustment of the upper and lower bridge lines. The reason for this adjustment is to take advantage of the air resistance and achieve maximum elevation.

1
Ask a friend or relative to grab the bridle from the reference mark and let the delta kite drop freely towards the floor. The bridle's reference mark is the point where the lower bridle line and the upper bridle line meet and can be adjusted. The kite must face upside down and not touch on the floor or on any furniture.

2
Kneel down, so your eyes are on the level of the kite. Stand on the side of the kite, to check the spine. The spine is the dowel connecting the nose with the tail of the delta kite.

3
Use a measuring tape to check the vertical distance of both ends of the spine with the floor. Pay attention to detail, as you only need tiny adjustments for this task. If the tail is closer to the ground or if both ends' distance with the ground is equal, then the delta kite needs tuning.
-
4
Ask your friend to slide the upper bridle line, 1/4 inch at a time. Measure the spine ends' distance after every tiny adjustment to check when the nose goes between 3 and 5 inches closer to the ground than the tail.
-
5
Stop the adjustments when the nose is closer to the ground. Now, every time you fly the delta kite, the nose will be slightly higher, allowing the wind to go under the kite and lift it.

Tips & Warnings
Do not overdo it with the adjustments. If the nose is much higher than the tail, then the wind will overturn the kite, resulting in its fall.
