Facebook users install over 20 million applications a day.

Facebook is a social networking site where you can build a profile and connect with friends, family and fans. The standard Facebook profile is blue and white, but you can change it by adding a skin or background theme. Facebook applications allow you to add a variety of skins to your profile. If you want to remove the skin from your profile or page, remove the Facebook application that created it from your account.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into Facebook and then click "Account" at the top right of the page.

    • 2

      Click "Account Settings."

    • 3

      Click "Application Settings."

    • 4

Click the app you want to remove. There are several apps on Facebook that can change backgrounds or add skins. Look for the app with the words "change background" or "change theme" or similar wording.

    • 5

      Click "Remove app."

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have multiple apps on your Facebook page, it may be impossible to tell which one changed your background. Delete one at a time and then view your profile to see if the skin is gone. If you remove the wrong app by accident, you can always re-add it by visiting the app's page and clicking "Go to app."
