How to Fix a Clogged Shower With Lime Deposits
Lime deposits in the shower are from the minerals contained in hard water. Over time, the deposits can block the holes in the showerhead and reduce the flow of water. It is not necessary to hire a plumber to fix the problem. You can unclog your showerhead with a product that you may already have in your kitchen. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Bowl
- White vinegar
- Scrub brush or toothbrush
- Toothpick
- Terry towel
- Plastic bag (optional)
- Rubber band (optional)

Fill a bowl with white vinegar. Unscrew the showerhead and place it inside the bowl. Ensure that the showerhead is completely submerged in the liquid. Let the showerhead soak in vinegar overnight.

Remove the showerhead from the bowl and scrub off the loosened lime deposit. You may use a regular scrub brush or a toothbrush. Use a toothpick to remove any lime deposit in the holes. Rinse the showerhead with clean water. Wipe it dry with a terry towel or let it air dry.

Soak the showerhead in a plastic bag filled with vinegar if it is not possible to unscrew it. The bag should be big enough to cover the showerhead completely. Pull the bag over the showerhead so it is submerged in the vinegar. Use a rubber band to secure the top edges of the bag to the area above the showerhead. Follow the process in step 3 to remove the deposit and clean the showerhead.
