How to Master "StarCraft"

"StarCraft" is a series of fast-paced, real-time strategy games. To master "StarCraft" you will need to know the game inside out and play as often as possible; issuing commands to your units in the game should be second nature and you should be able to react to each situation as quickly as possible.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete the single-player campaign missions. These missions are designed to introduce you to the the game's various units and structures.

    • 2

Memorize the game's keyboard shortcuts. Issuing commands through keyboard shortcuts is much faster than doing so by clicking through menus; the faster you can issue commands, the better you will play.

    • 3

Practice regularly as all races, both against the computer and against human opponents. This will help you learn the strength and weaknesses of each race and unit as well as common strategies and their counter-strategies. Professional "StarCraft" players often practice 11 or more hours every day.

    • 4

Watch videos and download replays of high-level "StarCraft" battles, such as those taking place in the yearly tournaments at BlizzCon and the various Invitational events throughout the world. This will help you get an idea of the strategies employed at the highest level of play and the speed at which the outcome of a game is decided.
