Instructions

    • 1

Plan your spa day in advance, including the activities and treatments you want to include. This gives you time to determine which items and ingredients you already have and which will need to be purchased.

    • 2

Gather supplies for the treatments you have planned and place them within easy reach on your spa day. You may also want to gather some magazines or books to read while your treatments are working.

    • 3

Set the scene for relaxation by putting on a soft robe and slippers, playing relaxing music, lighting scented candles or anything else that helps you feel relaxed.

    • 4

Wash hair and apply a deep conditioning treatment for your hair type. Cover hair with a towel or shower cap, and allow conditioner to set for 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing.

    • 5

Steam your face by standing over a bowl of steaming water or standing in a steamy shower for a few minutes. This opens pores, allowing for better product penetration.

    • 6

Apply a facial mask designed for your skin type and leave it on for 20 minutes. You may use a store bought facial mask or make a homemade version using instructions available online. Rinse off mask and apply a facial moisturizer.

    • 7

Place a cold compress over eyes while using the facial mask, if desired. Cold compress options include a cold washcloth or eye mask, cold cucumber slices or tea bags brewed and rinsed in cold water.

    • 8

Exfoliate your body with a sugar scrub or other exfoliating solution, concentrating on rough areas such as elbows and knees. You may also use a loofah, exfoliating gloves or a skin brush for exfoliation. After exfoliating, rinse body and pat dry.

    • 9

Massage your favorite moisturizer into skin. Give moisturizer time to soak in before getting dressed or applying nail polish.

    • 10

Give yourself a manicure, pedicure or both. Start by soaking, exfoliating and massaging hands and feet. Finish with moisturizer and your favorite nail polish.

Tips & Warnings
