How to Add White Vinegar to a Dishwasher Cycle

Use vinegar in the dishwasher.

The dishwasher requires cleaning on occasion, and sometimes you need to add an extra cleaning ingredient to boost the cleaning power of the unit. White vinegar is a natural element that disinfects and deodorizes the dishwasher unit, plus it works well to clean dishes and leave them free of spots, residue and streaks. Use vinegar properly for the best result.

Things You'll Need

• Dishwasher detergent
• White vinegar

Instructions

1. Place all dishes into the dishwasher along with your regular dishwasher detergent.

2. Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher unit.

3. Turn on the dishwasher and run a normal wash cycle. Use the vinegar regularly to keep dishes sparkling, or use one to two times per month if you want to simply clean and deodorize the dishwasher itself.
