How to Knit a Patch Pocket for a Scarf
Adding a patch pocket to a homemade scarf is not only quite quick and easy, but it can add a splash of color and a unique place for little items or hands. Knit the patch pocket in a different color for contrast. Adding personal touches--such as pockets--to homemade scarves, makes a gift even more special. To knit this easy pattern for a garter stitch patch pocket, you'll need to know how to cast on, knit, bind off and sew.
Things You'll Need

Tips & Warnings
Embroider a chain stitch motif on the pocket for even more personalization--try a flower or heart.
Work a knit one, purl one rib for a few rows at the beginning and work the rest in stockinette as an alternative to garter stitch.
