How to Hook Up an Airco Spool Gun
An Airco spool gun is a tool used in metal inert gas (MIG) welding. A power cable is attached to the rear of the gun, and the gun itself discharges lines of aluminum wire that are used in the weld. Before you can begin using the spool gun, you will first need to ensure that it is set up properly. These devices are designed so that setup can be completed in a few moments. Locate the smallest of the three cables that run from the back of the Airco spool gun; this is the electrical cable.

Run the electrical cable to the weld-controller box in your work area. Plug the cable into the port on the box. The cable connects via pins in the plug and the port is circular in shape.

Locate the largest of the three cables at the back of the gun; this is the power cable.

Plug the power cable into your Constant Current industrial power-supply generator.

Locate the remaining cable on the rear of the gun; this is the gas hose. Plug the gas hose into the gas supply at the work site. The spool gun is now completely hooked up.
