How to Use Ethernet With LabVIEW

LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench) develops applications on Windows-based computers through the visual programming language. You can connect LabVIEW to other computers with an Ethernet connection. To do so, you must configure the Ethernet port on your system. You don't have to be a computer expert to configure your Ethernet port. You can do it yourself with minimal knowledge of the system.

Instructions

    • 1

Boot the LabVIEW software on your computer. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your computer and connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your network.

    • 2

Click on the "Controller" icon and then click on the "Enable" button next to the "IP Reset" icon.

    • 3

Reboot the controller by pressing the "Reset" icon. Wait for the controller to reboot and disable the "IP Reset" switch.

    • 4

Click on the "Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)" icon. Click on the "Remote Systems" icon.

    • 5

Click on the "Obtain IP address from DHCP server" icon in the "IP Settings" field and then click "Apply."
