How to Make Trailer Credits

Movie trailers act as harbingers for their associated films. They drum up interest in movies by packaging a film's highlights into a short montage or snippet. While your movie trailer is only a sample of your entire film, you'll still need to credit the film's producers and the actors that appear in the clip. With the help of the Windows Live Movie Maker, you can add credits to your trailer or export them for use in another video editing application.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Start" button in your taskbar, and then type "Windows Live Movie Maker" into the Start menu's search box. Click on the Windows Live Movie Maker icon when it appears in the Start menu.

    • 2

Drag and drop your trailer into Movie Maker's right window. You can omit the trailer, if you only wish to make credits for use in another application.

    • 3

Click on the "Credits" button. Type your trailer's credits into the text box that appears in the preview window.

    • 4

Use the options in the "Font" section of Movie Maker's toolbar to make changes to the size and appearance of your text.

    • 5

Move your cursor over one of the panels in the "Effects" window to preview a scroll effect for the credits. Click on the desired effect to apply it to your credits.

    • 6

Save your credits. Click on the blue "Movie Maker" button, highlight its "Save As" option and then click on a output format for your credits. For example, you can elect to publish your credits in "Widescreen" or "High-Definition" format.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your version of Window doesn't include the Windows Live Movie Maker, you can download a free copy of the application from Microsoft's website.
