How to Connect an Android to Hidden SSID 22

Android devices can access the Internet through your cellular data network. However, your connection strength can be limited by your reception, making large data transfers difficult. Fortunately, your Android device can also connect to Wi-Fi networks and use that connection for a data transfer as well. Typically you can search for wireless networks and connect to them that way, but your Android won't display the name of a network with a hidden SSID. If you're attempting to connect to a network with a hidden SSID of "22," you can do so by manually connecting to the network.

Instructions

    • 1

      Unlock your Android phone.

    • 2

Touch "Menu," and then touch "Settings."

    • 3

Tap "Wireless & Networks." This brings up the "Wireless & Network Settings" menu.

    • 4

Touch "Wi-Fi Settings," and then tap "Add Wi-Fi Network."

    • 5

Type "22" into the "Network SSID" field.

    • 6

Touch the drop-down menu under "Security," and then tap the type of security that the network uses.

    • 7

Type the password into the "Password" field, and then touch "Save."

Tips & Warnings

  • Your Android device will automatically attempt to connect to the wireless network whenever it's in range. If you don't want to connect to the network, you can tap the box to the right of "Wi-Fi" on the "Wireless & Network Settings" menu to disable your Wi-Fi connection.
