How to Replace RV Skylight Pictures
Some RV skylights include pictures of clouds or other natural elements that filter the light as it comes through the skylight. These pictures are generally embedded within the skylight cover itself. If you wish to replace the picture in your RV skylight, you will need to replace the entire skylight cover. You can choose a skylight cover with a different picture, or you may choose one without a picture that simply filters the light with a semi-opaque finish.

1
Remove the caulking around the skylight cover on the outside of the RV by scraping it with a small putty knife. Continue removing the caulking until you can access the flashing and screws underneath.
-
2
Remove the screws on the outside of the skylight with a screwdriver, then remove any screws on the inside if necessary. Some models have no internal screws.
-
-
3
Lift and remove the skylight cover from the outside and set it aside.
-
4
Place the new skylight cover in the same orientation as the original. Attach the flashing if it is not already attached, by snapping it into place.
-
5
Insert the screws that were included with the skylight cover into the screw holes and use a screwdriver or drill with a screwdriver bit to tighten them into place.
-
6
Apply a layer of caulk around the seams of the skylight cover to protect against water and moisture. Caulk over the tops of the screws as well to keep them from rusting. Consult the label for the proper drying time.
