How to Make a Home Remedy to Deodorize a Drain
The kitchen drain is a haven for rotting food and grease. If it's not cleaned and deodorized regularly, it will eventually stink. Before you go to the cleaning isle of your local supermarket to purchase the latest cleaning product, use items found right in your home to deodorize a drain. Then, continue to deodorize your drain once a week to keep it smelling fresh and clean. Does this Spark an idea?

Pour 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup white vinegar down the drain and let it sit for five minutes.

Cover the drain while the vinegar and baking soda are deodorizing the drain. If you don't have a cover, place a container lid over top of the drain.

Boil a tea kettle or pot full of water while the vinegar and baking soda are deodorizing the drain.

Take off the drain cover and pour the boiling water down the drain. The drain should now be deodorized. If it still smells, repeat.

Tips & Warnings
Use drain strainers in your sink, especially if you don't have a garbage disposal.
Scoop up grease from pans with paper towels and discard, rather than letting it go down the drain.
Pour boiling water down the drain if grease does go down it.
