How to Make Fancy Washcloth Hangings Like They Have in Hotels

You can fold your towels the same way housekeeping does at fancy hotels.

Luxury resorts and hotels around the world greet guests with an array of luxuries and amenities that keep you coming back. Occasionally, it's the littlest aspects of your trip you remember most, such as the fancy method of towel folding used by hotel staff in your bathroom. While your home may not have all of the upgrades and luxuries that a high end resort features, you can show your luxurious side to guests by learning to fold your hand towels using the same techniques as that luxury hotel you love to frequent.

Things You'll Need

• Bath towel
• Hand towel
• Washcloth

Instructions

1. Fold a large bath towel into thirds, lengthwise, and hang it from a towel bar in your bathroom. You are done with this portion of the fancy towel folding.

2. Lay a hand towel on a flat surface with the smaller ends at the top and bottom. Fold the bottom of the hand towel upward so it is three-quarters of the way up the towel.

3. Take hold of the portion of the towel you just folded and fold it downward so the end is now at the folded bottom of the towel. Carefully take hold of the towel and flip it over so as not to mess up the folds you just created.

4. Fold the left side of the towel in so the edge of the towel rests in the center. Do the same thing with the right side of the towel. Carefully flip the folded towel back over and hang it over the bath towel on the towel rack.

5. Fold a washcloth like an accordion and then fold the accordion washcloth in half so it looks like a fan rather than an accordion. Place the fan-shaped washcloth into the pocket on the hand towel that is hanging on your towel rack.

Tips & Warnings

• Place flowers, soaps or other decorative goodies in the pocket of the hand towel so they are displayed in front of the fan.
