Use cording to lace drink tabs into a bracelet.

Making bracelets from Monster tops is a DIY jewelry trend that has spawned from the increasing popularity of energy drinks. The lime green, metallic color of these tabs make them a desirable substitute to basic aluminum tabs. Bracelets are created by lacing the drink tabs with a few feet of cording.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the scissors to cut 2 1/2 feet of cording.

    • 2

String the first tab onto the cord ends, centering the tab in the middle of the long cord. The smooth side of the tab should be facing upward.

    • 3

Place the next tab smooth side down, overlapping the first tab. String the cord ends up through the second tab's holes, and continue threading the cord back up through the first tab's holes.

    • 4

Place the next tab smooth side up, overlapping the smooth side down tab. Thread the cords down through the top and bottom tab's opposite holes, creating an 'X' between the two top tabs.

    • 5

Repeat the threading process, alternating the smooth side of the tabs facing upward and downward. This ensures the rough side of the tabs never touches the skin.

    • 6

The final tab should have the smooth side facing downward. Wrap the bracelet to overlap the first and final tabs, and repeat the 'X' threading process to link the final two tabs.

    • 7

On the underside of the bracelet, thread the cord ends underneath previous stitches. Knot the cord ends and trim excess with scissors. Turn the bracelet back right side out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try lacing with colored or metallic cording for a more decorative bracelet.
