How to Work With 3D in Illustrator
Graphics packages now allow you to present objects in 3D so they can be viewed from a number of angles. This can be useful when trying to show a different perspective or liven up a design. You can make 3D adjustments in an Adobe Illustrator project using a 3D tool to make objects appear not just flat images on the screen or page.

Click on the object or text that you wish to make into a 3D object with the "Pointer" tool.

Click on the "Effect" menu. Choose "3D," followed by "Extrude and bevel."

Designate the depth of the 3D effect in the "Extrude Depth" field in the "3D Extrude and Bevel options" pop-up window.

Orient your 3D object by choosing "Custom Rotation" from the "Position" drop-down menu and choosing your desired angles. You can also rotate the object later on the main work area with the "pointer" tool. Click "OK" when you are happy with the 3D settings.

Create a depth effect using "Gaussian Blur" to make the object appear further away. Click on the "Effect" menu. Click on "Blur" followed by "Gaussian Blur." Adjust the blur until you are happy and click "OK."
