How to Make a Bead Necklace With Bows
Making your own jewelry can both save you money and allow you to customize a design. Making a gift for a friend can show that thought and effort went into the gift. You can make a simple beaded necklace that will fit a range of neck sizes by using a bow to secure the necklace. This bow can be adjusted in size, depending on how tight you want the necklace.

1
Arrange your beads in the configuration you would like.

2
Fashion the end of the ribbon into a point with scissors. Feed the point of the ribbon through the needle. Make a loop in the other end of the ribbon near the end. Pass the loose end through the loop to create an overhand knot. This knot will stop the beads from sliding off the other end of the ribbon.

Insert the needle end through a bead. Pull the needle through, followed by the ribbon. Pull the ribbon through until the knot stops the bead at the other end. Put as many beads on the ribbon as your design dictates.

Tie an overhand knot to secure the beads in place. Hang the necklace on the wearer's neck. Cross the ends of the ribbon over and under each other. Hold the left side of the ribbon in a loop. Loop the other end of the ribbon and pass it through the central knot. Pull the two ends tight to secure the bow.
