How to Get Amazon E-Books to Work on Nook

Amazon's Kindle e-book reader can read various book formats, including AZW, TXT, MOBI and DOC. The Nook e-book reader uses the EPUB format as its primary e-book type. Most Amazon Kindle e-books will not work on a Nook device in their original state. The Amazon e-book files must first be converted to the Nook format in order for them to work on the Nook. A free program called Calibre converts between the formats used by both devices, allowing the books to be read on the Nook.
