How to Change Text in Blender

Blender 3-D graphics software allows you to add text to your projects as needed. If the text you added to your project needs editing, you must properly select the text and make changes in the correct mode. Unlike word processing programs, you can't use the mouse to highlight and select the text you want to edit; you need to use the keyboard to highlight text. Once highlighted, you can perform many of the same edits available on word processing programs.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your project in Blender and press the "Tab" key on your keyboard to open "Object Mode." The bottom menu bar reads "Object Mode" when properly selected.

    • 2

Right-click the text you want to edit. It's highlighted and selected when you right-click it.

    • 3

Press the "Tab" button to switch to "Edit" mode. A white cursor appears at the end of your text.

    • 4

Push the arrow buttons on your keyboard to navigate to the portion of text you want to edit.

    • 5

Press and hold the "Shift" button while pressing the arrow buttons to highlight the text you want to edit.

    • 6

Push the "Backspace" or "Delete" buttons to erase the text, or start typing to erase the original text and replace it with edited text.

    • 7

Look at the "Text Tools" menu on the left side of the screen. You have several text editing options.

    • 8

Click "Copy" to copy the text, "Cut" to copy the text and delete it from the current location, and "Paste" to paste your copied or cut text.

    • 9

Click "To Upper" or "To Lower" to change all of your highlighted text to capital or lowercase letters.

    • 10

Click "Bold," "Italic" or "Underline" to bold, italicize or underline your highlighted text.

    • 11

Click "Repeat Last" to repeat your last action or "History" to select a recently performed action that you want to perform again.
