How to Create a Facebook Deal on a Merged Page

Create a Facebook deal on a Facebook Place page you've merged with your establishment's fan page to give existing and prospective fans who "check-in" to your establishment using Facebook Places incentive to return. Facebook deals are only available to owners of pages that are linked with a Facebook Place, so "claim" your Facebook Place page before you attempt to create a deal.

      Claim a Facebook Place if you haven't already done so. Visit the Place page you want to merge with your Facebook fan page and click "Is This Your Business?" Input the personal details Facebook requests, then wait for a verification text message or email to complete the merging process.

      Select "Use Facebook as Page" from the "Account" menu, then click the name of your page to be taken to its main page interface. Click the "Create Deal" button under "Marketing."

      Choose the "Deal Type." For example, choose "Individual Deal" if you want to give discounts to individuals who visit your business or "Loyalty Deal" to provide incentive for customers to visit multiple times.

      Give your deal a title to concisely define it to a customer and a short description which explains the course of action he needs to take. Specify any time or date constraints for the deal.

      Wait for Facebook to approve the deal, which usually takes no more than several hours, then click "Share With Connections" so that each person who "Likes" your page or "checks in" to your establishment sees the deal for the duration you specified.
