The Numbers application can import vCard data and export it into different formats.

All Apple computers running the Mac OS X operating system come with the Mac Mail application installed. Mac Mail and other similar desktop email clients store contact information in a file format known as a vCard. However, you may come across the need to work with vCard data in a spreadsheet or database application that can only recognize text files. With the Numbers application from the Apple iWork suite, you can export vCard data as comma separated text files.

Launch the Numbers application on your Mac.

Open an existing spreadsheet file or double-click on the "Blank" template option to create a new one.

Navigate to the location on your hard drive where you want to save the converted file and enter a name for it in the "Save As" field.

    • 7

Hit the "Export" button to convert the vCard data into a comma separated text file and save it to the selected location.
