Things You'll Need

  • Moisturizing conditioner
  • Plastic cap
  • Hooded hairdryer
  • Leave-in conditioner
  • Anti-frizz serum
  • Oil-free wig spray
  • Curl-defining mousse or curly hair butter

Instructions

  1. When You Wash Your Hair

    • 1

      Shampoo your hair. Make sure that all of the extension hair is falling in the same direction so your extensions do not tangle.

      Add moisturizing conditioner to your extensions. Make sure to fully saturate all of the extension hair from the root to the ends. De-tangle with a wide-tooth comb. Place a plastic cap over your hair. Leave the conditioner and cap on for 30 minutes.

      Rinse the conditioner out with cool water and towel dry it.

      Apply a leave-in moisturizing conditioner and an anti-frizz hair serum to the extension hair to add shine and prevent frizzing as it dries.

      Sit under a hooded hair dryer until your hair is no longer damp beneath the weave. This will usually take 45 minutes to an hour depending on the thickness of your braids.

      Apply an oil-free human and synthetic wig spray or a curly butter or hair cream.

      Apply a curl-defining mousse to separate the curls.

      Spray with oil-free human and synthetic wig spray.

      Scrunch hair to give your curls volume.
